Role Description

We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for our PNG Office in Port Moresby Office. As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering detailed electrical designs while leading and mentoring the electrical team. High standards of professionalism and ethical behaviour will be expected from the successful applicant. Applicants must be a team player that will complement our existing large local office of engineers and drafts persons and should be able to learn other discipline services.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead teams in the delivery of multidisciplinary projects throughout the organization
• Interpret and understand project scopes and technical requirements related to electrical systems on various projects located in PNG and throughout the Pacific
• Delivery of detailed electrical designs, calculations, reports, and specifications.
• Provide detailed technical advice to the Building Services Manager and associated Country Managers.
• Liaise with internal discipline personnel such as architects, structural and civil engineers to communicate requirements and develop fully co-ordinated design outcomes.
• Work with company-wide Electrical Engineers to develop standards for electrical engineering designs.
• Develop procurement specifications and scopes of work to facilitate procurement of equipment.
• Conduct detailed technical reviews of supplier offers and assist with bid evaluations

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred);
• Affiliate member of IEPNG.
• 10+ years in electrical engineering, focusing on project management and consultancy; expertise in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP).
• Strong project management capabilities: planning, budgeting, scheduling.
• Proficient in managing multiple projects and using project management tools.
• Solid understanding of electrical principles, building codes, and industry standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills for complex technical challenges.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
