Vacancy Notice – Senior Electrician/Electrical Engineer

Island Enterprises Ltd is a multi-disciplinary Engineering and Property Maintenance Organization based in Honiara, Solomon Islands our company is seeking a qualified Electrical engineer. The available roles require clear understanding of project management, contract administration and design requirements. Engineers will be responsible for managing the quality of work performed by technical teams as well as managing sub-contractors, budgets and client accounts.

The position is three month casual probation with the opportunity to become full-time at the end of this period for persons who display the Company's values and standards required.

Skills and Attributes:

• Degree/Diploma qualifications in electrical engineering
• Minimum 4 years’ experience
• Relevant Trade license
• Proven experience liaising with key project stakeholders
• A strong knowledge of electrical maintenance and trouble shooting
• Ability to manage projects using engineering principles and techniques
• The ability to follow documented processes and procedures
• Ability to read and understand large scale tender documents and correctly file bids
• Assist in the preparation of policies, procedures, reports and implementation of strategies relating to engineering functions
• Good at problem solving and enjoy a challenge
• Experience in supervision/coaching/mentoring direct reports to develop in their positions
• Excellent communication and team working abilities
• Available to travel and work on a on call roster, after hours and weekends
