Senior Environmental Consultant

MC Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant to join our growing team in Port Moresby.

This is an opportunity to work on some of the region's most significant infrastructure, urban development, mining, energy, transport, and government projects, while helping deliver practical environmental outcomes that improve communities and protect the natural environment.

We are looking for someone who enjoys a mix of field work, technical reporting, project management, and client interaction. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who wants to grow with our business.

For the right person, this role has a genuine pathway into a senior leadership or management position as our environmental services team continues to expand.

About the role

Working within our multidisciplinary engineering and advisory business, you will lead environmental assessment projects across Papua New Guinea and the Pacific region.

You will be responsible for delivering high quality environmental services while working alongside engineers, planners, surveyors, geotechnical specialists, and project managers.

Your work will include:

• Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)
• Environmental Management Plans (EMP)
• Environmental and social due diligence
• Site inspections and field investigations
• Stakeholder and community engagement
• Environmental approvals and regulatory liaison
• Project management and client communication
• Technical report writing and review
• Coordination of multidisciplinary project teams
• Supporting business development and proposal preparation

About you

You are someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects and producing work to a high professional standard.

You will ideally have:

• Approximately 5 to 7 years' experience in environmental consulting or more
• Experience delivering environmental assessments for infrastructure, mining, transport, energy or development projects
• Strong technical report writing skills
• Experience managing projects, budgets and client relationships
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• A practical approach to solving environmental challenges
• A willingness to undertake field work throughout Papua New Guinea and the Pacific
• A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related discipline

Experience working within Papua New Guinea or developing countries will be highly regarded but is not essential.
