Senior IT Network Engineer

About the Role
Are you a skilled Senior IT Network Engineer with experience in core banking networks and migration projects? We are looking for a highly experienced network professional to design, implement, and maintain a secure, high-performance network infrastructure that supports mission-critical banking operations.
This role requires expertise in network architecture, security, and cloud networking while ensuring high availability, regulatory compliance, and seamless connectivity across multiple banking systems. Key Responsibilities
Network Design & Implementation:

• Design and deploy scalable, secure, and high-performance network architectures.
• Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and SD-WAN solutions.
• Implement network segmentation and micro-segmentation for enhanced security.

Core Banking Systems & Migration Projects:

• Support and maintain network infrastructure for core banking applications.
• Lead network migration and upgrade projects, ensuring minimal disruption to banking operations.
• Work closely with core banking vendors and internal teams to optimize network performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues impacting core banking applications.

Network Operations & Maintenance:

• Monitor network performance, ensuring 99.9% uptime for mission-critical systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues efficiently within SLA timeframes.
• Apply firmware updates, patches, and security configurations to ensure a secure network.

Security & Compliance:

• Implement and enforce network security policies and best practices.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and threat response to mitigate risks.
• Ensure compliance with banking security regulations and industry standards.

Cloud & Virtual Network Management:

• Manage cloud-based network services, including Azure Virtual Networks.
• Integrate on-premise and cloud environments for seamless connectivity.

Disaster Recovery & Redundancy:

• Design and maintain failover strategies and network redundancy.
• Test and validate disaster recovery plans for network systems.

Project Management & Documentation:

• Lead network infrastructure projects from planning to execution.
• Collaborate with IT teams on system integration and deployment projects.
• Maintain up-to-date network diagrams and technical documentation.
• Generate performance and security reports for management review.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
• Oracle Certification Mandatory
• SQL and PostgreSQL Knowledge (Good to have)
• Cisco CCNP or equivalent advanced networking certification.
• Microsoft Azure and cloud networking certification preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in network engineering within banking or financial services.
• Hands-on experience with core banking networks, migrations, and upgrade projects.
• Strong expertise in configuring and managing Cisco, Fortinet, and Palo Alto network devices.
• Experience with SD-WAN, VPN, MPLS, and cloud-based networking solutions.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and security best practices.
• Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and technical documentation abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
• High level of initiative and attention to detail.
