Tolu Minerals Limited (Tolu), an incorporated Papua New Guinean company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX: TOK), which owns the former Tolukuma Gold Mine and numerous exploration assets in the Goilala District, Central Province, and New Britain Province, is seeking an experienced Senior Radio Communication Technician to join its team immediately.

We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated Senior Radio Communication Technician to support and maintain underground and surface communication systems across the Tolukuma Gold Mine. This is a critical technical role responsible for ensuring reliable communication networks that support safe and efficient mining operations.

The Senior Radio Communication Technician reports directly to the Electrical Superintendent and will work closely with mining, electrical, and operational teams to maintain and optimize leaky feeder networks, RF amplifiers, repeater systems, and emergency communication infrastructure. The role also contributes to the continuous improvement of communication systems to support underground development and operational activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Trade Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electronics, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years experience in radio communication systems, preferably within an underground mining environment
• Strong knowledge of leaky feeder systems, RF amplifiers, repeaters, radio programming, and diagnostics.
• Understanding of server-based monitoring, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and emergency refuge chamber communication links.
• Installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing two-way radio and wireless communication systems to ensure clear and reliable transmission.
• Test signal strength, align communication systems, and calibrate equipment to meet industry standards and legal frequency regulations.
• Documentation and Compliance to Maintain accurate service logs, record system outages, and ensure compliance with relevant telecommunication authorities.
• Proven fault-finding and problem-solving skills relating to communication systems
• Ability to work safely in underground and remote operating environments
• Strong safety awareness, communication, and teamwork skills
• Previous underground gold mining experience will be highly regarded
