The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Sales Manager to join our Commercial Team in Port Moresby, supporting both Holiday Inn & Suites and Holiday Inn Express. In this portfolio role, you’ll develop strong partnerships, unlock new business opportunities, and lead the charge in growing our market share across key segments.
You’ll report directly to the Portfolio Director of Sales & Marketing and play a key role in shaping the commercial success of our two hotels.
What You’ll Do
- Lead sales activity across key corporate, government, group, and long-stay segments
- Build meaningful client relationships that feel like family — the Holiday Inn way
- Create smart sales strategies that drive revenue, grow share, and strengthen the brand
- Support the development of proactive and reactive sales structures
- Work closely with Marketing, Reservations, and Operations to deliver a seamless guest and partner experience
- Represent our hotels at trade events, client meetings, and familiarisations
- Mentor and support junior team members as we grow the next generation of IHG talent
What We’re Looking For
- Proven hotel sales experience, ideally within an international brand
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- A proactive, positive, can-do approach
- Ability to build trust quickly and maintain long-lasting partnerships
- Commercially savvy, organised, and comfortable managing a fast-moving portfolio
- Someone who embodies the Holiday Inn spirit – warm, open, and genuinely helpful
What we need from you
- 3-5 years hotel experience (international brand preferred)
- Strong experience with government, corporate, or mining accounts.
- Proven ability to meet revenue targets and manage key accounts.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Understanding of Port Moresby market dynamics.
