SENIOR TRADESMAN MECHANIC

REPORTS TO: TRANSPORT OPERATIONS MANAGER

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:

• Oversee all aspects of the Workshop duties
• Able to work on all heavy and light vehicles
• Able to oversee and do servicing of all company fleets.
• Staff Training.
• Able to work on odd hours and attend to after -hours break downs.
• Basic knowledge on auto electrician and welding trade is a bonus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Must have five to ten years of work experience as a tradesperson.
• Must be able to drive and possess a class six or four driver’s license.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal skills and the ability to organize and prioritize work.
• A good communicator with exceptional management skills to work professionally in a Team environment.
• Be able to handle emotional, confrontational people in a calm professional manner. Never lose composure.
• Have a zero tolerance to alcohol.

QUALIFICATION

• Tradesman Certificate
• 5-10 years of experience in a similar field

DAYS/HOURS

• Monday – Friday from 7:30 am – 5:00 pm
• Saturdays 7:30 am – 12:00 midday
• Public Holidays are usually a working day, depending on the management’s decision

This employee will be working in a challenging and demanding position which is result oriented and requires 100% focus. The successful candidate shall be working in a workshop environment.
