K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. We are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the role

This position will be responsible for administering the employee technical training programs to meet the business needs of the Exploration and Drilling departments at K92 mining limited.

To ensure that these programs meet K92 Mining standards and external training accreditation where possible and necessary.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve training programs, including trainer manuals and course materials for the Exploration and Drilling Departments.
  • Develop Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and administer on-the-job and off-the-job training for Exploration and Drilling departments.
  • Deliver training programs within approved budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage training resources effectively to meet agreed objectives and outcomes.
  • Prepare and present progress reports, maintain training documentation, and ensure compliance with accreditation and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate weekly meetings to review work progress and emerging issues.
  • Establish a high-performance culture through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
  • Deliver leadership, supervisory, and personal effectiveness programs to enhance team capability.
  • Promote a safe and healthy work culture and ensure adherence to HSE standards.
  • Maintain housekeeping and ensure all training activities comply with legal and company requirements.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification or experience in a Training & Development position in the PNG mining or an associated resource industry
  • Certificate Stage IV in Training and Assessment
  • Sound practical skill in designing and reviewing competency-based training systems and experience with training packages.
  • Demonstrated ability to reinforce and develop training methods by being responsible for providing advice on and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Sound computer literacy skills including operational efficiency in the Microsoft Suite, and industry-based programs such as PRONTO or similar programs.
  • Accreditation from the National Training Council Desirable
  • Experience in providing training and development advice to managers, superintendents, and supervisors preferably in Exploration and Drilling based projects
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, particularly in presentations and facilitation.
  • An effective coach and mentor for industrial students, scholarship holders, apprentice, and graduates.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
  • Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training.
