We currently have a vacancy for Shift Supervisor to join our already strong and vibrant Flour Mill (Production) Team in Port Moresby. Reporting to the Assistant Production Manager, the successful incumbent implements, executes, directs, coordinates, and monitors the activities of workgroups involved in flour milling, mixing, packing, and repackaging and or as directed.

He/she is to coordinate the groups to mill, mix, pack, weigh, count and stack flour products to meet warehousing and sales requirements as per Production Plan and to meet the objectives of the daily operations plan.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining an Incident Free Workplace with Zero injuries.
• Report injuries sustained immediately to your manager.
• Executing daily operations in accordance with the Production Plan for the week with management and explain these two teams responsible.
• Checking the implementation of production schedules and help teams to make sure the work is completed on time with targets.
• Reporting daily on achievement of milling & production targets to management through daily Milling / Packing Reports.
• Ensuring operator manuals and work instructions are up to date, and implemented
• Ensuring that Goodman Fielder’s policies and procedures, food safety practices & quality procedures (Good Manufacturing Practices) are implemented by team leaders
• Directing the set-up and adjustment of packaging machines and equipment
• Ensuring that teams successfully manage product and shift changeovers
• Ensuring that routine Preventative Maintenance are scheduled and undertaken
• Ensuring that problems with equipment, safety and quality are quickly reported and fixed
• Working with teams, maintenance, safety, and quality staff to fix on-going problems and leakages.
• Reporting issues or concerns about outcomes, improvements, working conditions, use of equipment, systems and processes, or health and safety, to management

To be considered for the role, you will need to have/ be:

• A minimum of grade 12 certificate or/and diploma in electrical, mechanical engineering or related.
• 3+ years of working experience as a production shift supervisor (or similar).
• Computer Literate (MS Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• A strong internal and external stakeholder management (essential).
• Demonstrated experience in line with technical and leadership competencies.
• Experience in working with new customers and developing relationships quickly (essential).
• Must understanding of end-to-end supply chain drivers within FMCG (preferred).
• At least class (3) drivers’ licence as an advantage.
