Site Training Coordinator - Asset
HBS PNG LIMITED currently operates in numerous mine sites across PNG, both on the mainland and remote island locations. We own and operate one of the largest and best maintained mining fleets in PNG, offering the mining sector a variety of services including road construction, maintenance, haulage, lighting, crushing services and plant equipment hire.
We are taking expressions of interest for highly and suitably qualified individuals for the position of Site Training Coordinator - Asset. Applicants must have experience within the mining and construction fields.
This role will involve:
- Review and analyse training schedules, training advertisements, and machine availability to ensure all site training prerequisites are completed.
- Deliver and evaluate onsite training, providing hands-on instruction for the maintenance crew (80% on-the-job, 20% classroom-based) and development programs such as coaching and counselling. Liaise with the site maintenance team and earthwork operations trainers to address maintenance gaps and equipment misuse, ensuring all onsite training programs are effectively implemented.
- Produce regular onsite reports for senior management to provide updates on program implementation. Rationalize proposed training methods and adjust technical training approaches based on analysed employee skill gaps to effectively execute site specific technical training plans.
- Implement training systems onsite and monitor the quality and practicality of administrative processes. Train site staff in the use of organizational systems, including but not limited to:
- Training data recording systems.
- Training nomination and selection processes.
- Pre-employment testing procedures.
- Personnel qualification and competency development
- Assist in designing and developing asset and trades training support materials and course modules /syllabuses.
- Provide guidance and advice during equipment troubleshooting and repairs, and perform relief roles in the absence of maintenance supervisory staff, ensuring compliance with HSE scorecards
- Coordinate with site Asset superintendent/manager in analyzing and defining development / improvement planned for Maintenance Crew on site.
The Candidate must have:
- Minimum of Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering (D3 or equal),
- Minimum of 3 years of experience worked in Heavy Equipment maintenance/repair,
- Proficient knowledge of current Heavy Equipment system operation and technology,
- Strong exposure as a trainer for asset management operation on project,
- Proficiency in integrated systems for quality/safety management,
- Willing to travel different sites where needed.
