We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Social & Economic Impact Monitoring Specialist to support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of monitoring systems that assess the social and economic outcomes of our programs. Reporting to the Local Content & Agriculture Superintendent, the position will be responsible in ensuring that project interventions deliver measurable, sustainable, and meaningful impact to communities.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement monitoring frameworks to track social and economic impact indicators.
  • Develop data collection tools, methodologies, and reporting systems aligned with project objectives.
  • Conduct baseline, midline, and endline assessments.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Produce high-quality reports, dashboards, and insights for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements and international monitoring and evaluation standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate learning into program design and delivery.
  • Support capacity building of field staff in data collection and monitoring processes.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Sciences related field
  • Experience in impact monitoring and evaluation reporting
  • Strong knowledge of social and economic indicators, data analysis, and impact measurement frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience in Social Performance Management
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, or similar).
  • Experience with survey design and field data collection methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.

Company Description: The Hidden Valley mine is an open pit gold and silver mine, situated in the Morobe province in Papua New Guinea, some 210km northwest of Port Moresby and approximately 90km south-southwest from Lae, the capital of the province. The mine is located at elevations between 2 800m and 1 700m above sea level within steep mountainous and forested terrain that experiences approximately 3m of rainfall per year. The major gold and silver deposits of Hidden Valley are located in the Morobe Granodiorite of the Wau Graben. Crushed ore is conveyed from the Hidden Valley pit via a 3.8km long overland pipe conveyor and is treated at the Hidden Valley processing plant, which uses a two stage crushing circuit followed by a SAG mill, gravity, CCD/Merril Crowe circuit for silver and carbon-in-leach circuit for the gold.
