Software Programmer (Web Applications)

NextGen Technology Limited is looking for a skilled and self-motivated Software Programmer with a strong focus on web application development to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for creating innovative web-based software solutions from conception to deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality web applications using your expertise in any programming language (ex. PHP, Node.js)
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code primarily in JavaScript, ReactJS and leverage libraries like jQuery as needed.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications and functional solutions.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing web applications to ensure optimal performance and user experience.
• Implement and maintain APIs and integrate with various third-party services.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest web technologies and industry best practices.
• Actively participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in web application development.
• Strong proficiency in either:
  1. PHP with extensive experience in the Laravel framework.
  2. Node.js and React.js.
• Expertise in vanilla JavaScript, ReactJS and experience with jQuery.
• Solid understanding of front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3).
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of projects.
• Excellent time management skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Bonus Points (Nice-to-Have)

• Experience in website design using CMS tools like Wordpress, Drupal.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker).
• Knowledge of testing frameworks and methodologies.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
