We are seeking a competent and flexible individual to fill the vacant position of Spatial Information Supervisor. This position is based in Kimbe, West New Britain Province and reports to the Spatial Information Manager.
SPATIAL INFORMATION SUPERVISOR
Job Purpose:
The Spatial Information Supervisor is responsible for managing the company’s spatial and geographical data. This includes collecting, storing, analyzing, and presenting data to support plantation operations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain, organize, and update GIS databases, geospatial datasets, and digital filing systems to ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive daily and monthly GIS and spatial data management.
- Provide updates: Submit weekly progress reports to the Spatial Information Manager.
- Perform data collection, validation, updating, and maintenance of spatial datasets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Produce high-quality maps, thematic maps, spatial analyses, and visual presentations to support operational, research, and management decision-making.
- Manage data sharing: Use SharePoint and OneDrive to share information.
- Implement improvements to GIS workflows, data management processes, and spatial analysis methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in fields related to agriculture, forestry, GIS, GPS, UAV, Remote Sensing, Data Management, or similar relevant fields.
- 1-3 years of related work experience working within the natural resource sector using GIS and Remote Sensing as a tool.
- Experience with GIS software such as Agisoft Metashape Professional and ArcGIS Pro is essential.
- Communication, report writing, and presentation skills are essential.
- Excellent skills with MS Excel & MS Word are essential.
- Valid Class 6 driver’s license is essential.
