Specialist - HR Information Systems (231932)

Job Description

The Specialist - HRIS is responsible for implementing and maintaining HR Information management systems for the business. The role provides IT support to maintain data integrity, accuracy, consistency and security of all HR information in HR Oracle, related-databases and records, as well as providing technical support and training to HR Staff and end-users.

The ideal candidate must have:

  • A university qualification (Diploma/Degree) in HR Management, Information Technology, or any business or science/applied science discipline with a strong data analytics and reporting focus
  • Experience (3-5 years) in HR or Systems and Application professions, with a working knowledge of HR metrics, standards, policies and processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a data-driven and metrics-driven approach
  • Understanding and experience in HR Oracle or other HRM/HCM system
  • Strong information security and confidentiality practices
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel
  • Knowledge of relational databases, with a working knowledge of TSQL standard
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019 Management Studio and Business Intelligence Development Studio (SSAS and SSRS)
  • Attention to detail in composing and creating reports in Power BI
  • Strong Analytical and reporting skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, support and maintain HR Information systems and other PJV application tools (e.g. ID Facial Recognition system)
  • Manage HR Oracle
  • Ensure effective interface with Oracle payroll systems and In Flight
  • Based on ad hoc requirements, be able to query data from the SQL server for analysis and reporting, or to set up customized reports and dashboards using the MS Business Intelligence Development Studio
  • Lead regular systems audits to ensure data integrity, accuracy and consistency is maintained across HR Oracle system and other related systems
  • Conduct regular system audits to ensure data integrity, accuracy and consistency is maintained across HR Oracle system and other filing databases/records system
  • Ensure that HR Documents (New Hires, Reclassification & Terminations forms) are processed in a timely manner so that the fortnightly pay is completed on schedule
  • Provide training and support HR officers when issues arise from HR systems
  • Generate and provide HR monthly statistics to HR Manager, Finance and Safety department in preparation for their monthly management reports to the General Manager
  • Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness and comply with the PJV Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all health and safety rules and procedures

Mobilization Requirement

  • This position is open to PNG Nationals
  • The roster is 21 days on and 14 days off
  • Must Have an up-to-date Police clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months)
