PNG Motors operates a national parts network that keeps our branches, dealers, and workshops running. Behind every vehicle sold and every service job completed is a warehouse operation that has to work — accurately, safely, and on time.

This role exists because parts accuracy and safety are non-negotiable. A Storeman at PNG Motors plays a critical role in making sure the right parts get to the right place, without putting people, vehicles, or stock at risk.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be responsible for receiving, storing, controlling, and dispatching automotive parts within the National Parts Distribution Centre. That starts with checking incoming deliveries against supplier documents, inspecting for damage, and confirming quantities and part numbers before stock is accepted.

You’ll accurately bin and label parts, maintain an orderly warehouse layout, and pick, pack, and dispatch parts for PNG Motors branches and sub-dealers according to picking slips and delivery schedules. Handling and packaging must be done properly to prevent damage and injuries.

You’ll keep stock records up to date in the computer system, assist with cycle counts and stocktakes, and help investigate variances when they occur. You’ll also support dealer and workshop teams by locating and issuing parts promptly and safely.

Warehouse safety is a core part of the role. You’ll keep aisles, racking, and emergency exits clear, follow all housekeeping standards, and operate material-handling equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts (where licensed) in line with procedures and legal requirements. Any hazards, near misses, or incidents must be reported immediately.

Warehouse, parts, or automotive experience is an advantage, but not essential. What matters most is your attitude — willingness to learn, follow instructions, work as part of a team, and take responsibility for safety and accuracy.

If a load is heavy — you lift it properly or get help.
If something looks unsafe — you report it.

Safety Expectations

Safety is not optional at PNG Motors. You’ll be expected to comply with all company safety policies, standard operating procedures, and PPE requirements at all times. You’ll use correct manual-handling techniques, keep work areas tidy, and cooperate with safety inspections, audits, and training.

Skills and Qualifications

You’ll ideally have completed Grade 12. A certificate in warehousing, logistics, or occupational health and safety is an advantage. You’ll need basic computer skills, the ability to read part numbers and delivery documents accurately, and basic maths skills for counting and reconciliation. You must be physically fit to work safely in a busy warehouse environment.

Reporting and Working Conditions

You’ll report to the Warehouse OIC or National Parts Manager and work primarily in the National Parts Distribution Centre. The role involves regular lifting, use of material-handling equipment, and PPE. Overtime or weekend work may be required during peak periods.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am – 12:00pm
