Steel Industries, established in 1967, is a major retailer and fabricator of steel products in PNG. The company has a vacancy in the position of Structural Steel Fabrication Supervisor.

The Structural Steel Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and co-ordinating all aspects of structural steel fabrication within the workshop, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Supervise and direct the work of fabricators, welders and other workshop personnel.

- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide guidance and support to team members.

- Read project drawings and specifications to understand fabrication requirements.

- Plan and organise fabrication activities.

- Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure fabricated steel meets project specifications and industry standards.

- Conduct regular inspections of work in progress and finished products

- Identify and resolve quality issues

The applicant should have:

- Proven experience of at least 5-10 years as a Structural Steel Fabrication Supervisor

- Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication processes, techniques and equipment.

- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings.

- Familiarity with welding processes and quality control procedures

This is a senior position and an appropriate salary will be offered including accomodation and benefits depending on the level of the successful candidate. The position is open to PNG Citizens only.
