About the role

Reporting directly to the Manager – Human Resources, the Superintendent – HRIS & Benefits will be responsible to provide strategic leadership across HR technology, data analytics, remuneration, benefits governance, and workforce planning. The incumbent will partner with business leaders to align HR strategies with production goals, drive continuous improvement, and modernize key systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership & Culture: Lead, mentor, and hold team members accountable to deliver high performance.
• HRIS & Data Integrity: Optimize HR technology, ensure data accuracy, and deliver executive-level reporting and analytics.
• Benefits & Governance: Oversee benefits administration, remuneration benchmarking, compliance, and policy execution.
• Strategic Partnership: Advise leadership on workforce planning, headcount control, and engagement initiatives to drive retention.
• Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of building trust across diverse cultures and executive levels.
• Safety Leadership: Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness and comply with the NPL Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all safety rules and procedures.

About You

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experiences:

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Business, or a related field with proven senior leadership experience across HRIS, data analytics, and benefits management.
• Industry Exposure: Minimum of 5 years of senior-level HR leadership experience in remote operations within the Mining, Energy, or Resource sectors.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in HRIS platforms, HR analytics, continuous improvement frameworks, and PNG employment regulations. Hands-on experience with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ellipse/Element) is desirable.
• Leadership & Influence: Proven track record in developing high-performing teams and driving system enhancements.
• Continues Improvement: Track record and experience of managing continuous improvement, systems and technology improvement plans and ensuring personal accountability and ownership will be key to your success. People leadership and successfully implementing systems improvement and ensuring outcomes are achieved to agreed KPI’s will be key, with significant opportunity to improve personal performance, best practise and accountabilities.
