About the role

This role will be:

• Responsible for providing technical support to the Coordinator Processing in the plant.
• Managing the weekly operations and maintenance of plant equipment and machinery.
• Liaising with the Mine Manager with respect to the operation and availability of equipment and machinery
• Liaising with the Supply Superintendent with respect to the spare parts of equipment and machinery
• Training the local employees in machinery and equipment maintenance
• Liaising with the Manager- Maintenance on mid and long-term maintenance of machines.
• Collating operational statistics on mobile crane operators.
• Demonstrating commitment to health and safety policies in workplace

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• The efficient, safe, and continuous operation of the plant site machine and equipment in achieving production targets.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintain work standards in accordance with government regulations and company policy.
• Coordinate process plant activities.
• Give direction and technical assistance to subordinates.
• Implement planned maintenance deadlines.
• Maintain stock levels and place orders as required.
• Ensure training requirements are met.
• Organise and document weekly safety toolbox meetings.
• Carry out other relative duties as directed by the Coordinator Processing
• Utilising available resources, maintain equipment to a safe and efficient standard in accordance with government regulations and company policy.
• Cost control.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have some or all the following.

• An appropriate trades trade certificate
• Minimum of (5) years’ experience working in the l Processing Plant in a supervisory role
• Sulphide Mineral Floatation experience, crushing and grinding experience.
• Sound knowledge of Mining industry Safety, Environmental and Operational Practices in an underground mine.
• Sound knowledge of Mill Control systems
• Ability to diagnose fault with equipment and processes within the Operations area.
• Able to lead, provide training and coaching to staff within the processing department.
• Strong planning and analytical skills.
• A team player with good computer skills.
• Able to communicate effectively across all levels.
• Class three (3) driver’s license.
• Ability to train process plant personnel in all aspects of their trade – particularly in diagnosis and fault finding, quality control, thoroughness and record keeping.
• Must be a self-starter, and very resourceful, with the ability to find solutions to problems to ensure the equipment availability is high.
• Good health physical ability is a prerequisite, as is the ability to live in a remote environment with limited facilities. Flexible, adaptable and be a team
