About Lihir

Our Lihir Operation, located on the beautiful island of Niolam, approximately 800km north of Papua New Guinea's capital, Port Moresby, is one of the world’s largest gold mines. Set within a geothermically active, extinct volcanic crater, Lihir operates an open-pit mine producing refractory ore, which undergoes pressure oxidation and conventional leaching to recover gold. Our workforce includes both residential and commute rosters, creating a diverse and dynamic team. Lihir offers a range of recreational facilities, including a gym, sports club, restaurant, bar, swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, and a 9-hole golf course. Purpose

The role of the Supervisor Autoclaves is to lead the Autoclave operating team and ensure that the Autoclaves, and associated ancillary equipment are operated within Key parameter bands. You will oversee the Autoclaves to ensure safety and production are met on a daily basis.

Essential Duties

• Conducts in-field CCVs as per set monthly target.
• Participate in planning and attending training and assessment outlined in personal training of own role assigned in LMS
• Embed and improve authorised Operator routines and log sheets (with input) required for efficient running of the plant.
• Keep abreast of the current state of equipment and plant performance issues.
• Provide input to your Superintendent in developing efficient operating strategies for your section.
• Work closely with Process and Maintenance so they better understand & can contribute to the operating strategy for your section.
• Delivers work within approved budget managing any variances in accordance with escalation process.

Training & Experience

• A commitment to Safety
• 5+ years relevant work wth supervisory experience essential.
• Previous experience working in remote locations, but not essential.
• Proficient in English with excellent verbal, written communications and public speaking skills.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office suite.
• Sound planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
• Previous experience in HPAL or POX autoclaves.
• Tertiary qualification advantageous.
• PNG Driver's Licence – currently holds Class 6 or ability to obtain essential.

Working Conditions

This is a FIFO role on a 28:14 day and night shift roster.
