Surveyor

HBS (PNG) LIMITED currently operates in numerous mine sites across PNG, both on the mainland and remote island locations. We own and operate one of the largest and best maintained mining fleets in PNG, offering the mining sector a variety of services including road construction and maintenance, haulage, lighting and crushing services and plant equipment hire.

We are taking expressions of interest for highly and suitably qualified individuals for the position of Surveyor. Applicants must have experience within the mining and construction fields.

This role will involve:

Survey and Set-Out Activities

• Conduct and maintain accurate survey control and set out works to ensure construction activities align with approved designs and specifications.

Data Collection & Monitoring

• Collect, monitor, and analyze survey data to track project progress, earthworks quantities, and compliance with design requirements.

Quality Assurance

• Verify survey accuracy and completed works to ensure compliance with project standards, tolerances, and quality requirements.

Planning and Coordination

• Coordinate with project teams to support construction schedules, resolve survey issues, and facilitate efficient project delivery.

Safety, Health & Environment (HSE)

• Adhere to all HSE requirements and promote safe surveying practices while identifying and reporting workplace hazards.

Reporting

• Maintain accurate survey records and provide timely reports and data to support project management and progress tracking.

The Candidate must have:

• Demonstrated 3-5 years of surveying experience in large-scale civil earthworks, mining, dam construction, or other heavy industrial projects.
• Proven ability to deliver accurate survey outcomes in challenging terrain using modern surveying technology and in coordination with construction teams and heavy equipment operators
• Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma in Surveying from a recognized institution.
• Valid PNG Class 3 or 6 Driver's Licence, with ASPNG membership or eligibility considered an advantage.
• Advanced technical expertise in survey equipment, UAV/drone surveying, data analysis, and engineering software such as Surpac, Deswik, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong safety focus, problem-solving ability, resilience, and communication skills to perform effectively in demanding, multicultural project environments.

A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated based on applicant’s experience and skills.
