Islands Petroleum is an independently owned fuel and lubes distributor, and the exclusive distributor for Mobil Lubricants in Papua New Guinea. Islands Petroleum operates bulk fuel and lubricant Depots and Distribution Centres in the Islands, Momase, Southern, and the Highlands regions. 

We are currently seeking a seasoned professional for a Talent Acquisition Coordinator to join our Human Resource Team, to be based at our Port Moresby office.

The Role & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager – HR and Talent, you will coordinate recruitment activities across our operational and corporate workforce, with a strong focus on recruiting both operational and technical / supervisory employees. You will manage the recruitment process from vacancy through to commencement, ensuring candidates have a positive experience while vacancies are filled efficiently and in line with our workforce requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute sustainable recruitment strategy based on company’s workforce needs & objectives

• Coordinate end-to-end recruitment campaigns across the business.

• Manage high-volume recruitment of operational employees.

• Advertise vacancies across appropriate job boards, social media and recruitment channels.

• Screen applications and conduct telephone/video pre-screening.

• Coordinate interviews, assessments and pre-employment requirements.

• Maintain accurate recruitment records and ensure candidates progress efficiently through the recruitment process.

• Liaise closely with Depot Managers, Operations Leaders and hiring managers to understand workforce requirements.

• Coordinate medicals, police checks, licence verification and other role-specific pre-employment checks.

• Support the onboarding process and ensure new employees are ready to commence safely and effectively.

• Develop and maintain talent pools for ongoing driver and operational recruitment needs.

About You

• Demonstrated experience in recruitment coordination, talent acquisition or a similar role

• Experience with high-volume recruitment

• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

• The ability to manage multiple vacancies and competing priorities.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to compliance.

• Experience using applicant tracking systems and recruitment platforms.

• A professional, approachable and candidate-focused manner.

• The confidence to work closely with operational leaders and challenge or influence when required.

• Excellent analytical mind with strong verbal and written communication skills
