TB NURSING OFFICER
Location: Port Moresby General Hospital
Employment Type: Full-Time Fixed-Term Contract (3 Months)
Salary: K49,920 – K60,736 per annum (Pro Rata)
About the Role
Burnet Institute is seeking a qualified and experienced TB Nursing Officer to support a clinical research project on the rapid detection of drug-resistant tuberculosis in Papua New Guinea using real-time sequencing technology.
The successful applicant will be responsible for participant recruitment and consent, patient coordination and follow-up, implementation of research protocols, data collection support, and collaboration with clinical and research teams.
Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse, Midwife, or equivalent Allied Health Professional.
- Registered or eligible for registration with the PNG Nursing Council.
- Minimum five (5) years clinical experience.
- Knowledge of public health, tuberculosis, and community-based care.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Desirable
- Experience in TB/DR-TB management.
- Clinical research experience.
- Additional qualifications in Public Health, Tropical Medicine, Global Health, or related fields.
- Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Compliance with Burnet Institute's occupational health, safety, and safeguarding standards.
- National Police Check and Working with Children Check (where applicable).
- Compliance with Burnet Institute and Port Moresby General Hospital policies.
