Team Leader – Community Education
The Ok Tedi Development Foundation (OTDF) is the legal entity that manages community development benefits from Ok Tedi Mine operations on behalf of the people of the 158 Community Mine Continuation Agreement (CMCA) villages. OTDF is a safe, professional and innovative organisation that delivers projects to communities through a unique partnership between mining, the people and the government. OTDF is mandated to ensure wise and sustainable use of the wealth created from mining operations for the betterment of future generations of Western Province.
OTDF has three (3) current vacancies and seeks to engage dynamic, competent and qualified persons to be part of the team that is delivering development outcomes for the communities of Western Province. OTDF seeks to attract and retain professionals who are committed, hardworking, loyal, and honest and who possess good behaviours.
- Team Leader – Community Education: The key role and responsibility of the Team Leader Community Education is to:
- Plan and effectively lead the Community Education Service Program for the 158 Community Mine Continuation Agreement (CMCA) communities in Western Province.
- Oversee and effectively manage FODE, DODL and Scholarship Program for partners, Trust and Preferred Area Development.
- Lead preparations, conduct and plan annual assessments, examinations, and liaise with partners for resources to improve effectiveness and quality outcomes
- Provide effective people management and supervision of 3 dedicated staff members and encourage
team collaboration
- Plan, implement and, monitor education budget performance and demonstrate accountability
- Negotiate with stakeholders and Government to work in partnership to promote and deliver
education services in the province.
The following skills, qualification, work experiences and attributes are preferred:
- Teaching background at subject master level in Secondary schools with 5 years’ experience
- Must be recognized by Teacher Service Commission
- Must have thorough knowledge of FODE and Adult Matriculation programs
- Demonstration of results-based Monitoring and Evaluation
- Must possess a Degree in Education and preferably with supervisory experiences
- Must prefer to travel to remote settings down the Fly River and visit the FODE Study Centres

OTDF prefers residential status positions but also offers FIFO status (fly in fly out) along with an excellent remuneration and benefits package based on qualifications and work experience. Any demonstrated experience and results-based Monitoring & Evaluation Experience is highly preferable.
