About the role

This role will be

• The Carpenter role is to construct, install, repair, and maintain wooden structures and fixtures in accordance with project specifications, safety regulations, and building codes.
• To ensure that routine inspection and maintenance work is carried out on internal and external infrastructures onsite while meeting all site safety requirements

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Maintenance of instalments, buildings, furniture, and other items.
• Ensure that structures are built in accordance with safety and company standards.
• Prepare, study, and undertake building sketches and plans for construction.
• Routine examination on buildings and structures onsite for any signs of damage, report and rectify timely.
• Ensure that any power tools or equipment are regularly serviced as per manufacturers and company’s safety requirements.
• Prepare Material Lists of resources required to undertake work.
• Carry out other daily duties including work orders assigned by the Site Services Coordinator or designate.
• Perform physical duties construction related.
• Conduct general housekeeping at work area.
• Identify and report safety hazards.
• Maintain safety work standards in accordance with government regulations and company policy.
• Perform all roles and responsibilities that support and reflect the company’s mission and core values.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have some or all the following.

• NATTB certified
• Grade 10 or above
• Minimum of 5 years in all facets of residential construction and industrial environment.
• Knowledge of residential construction and remodelling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, and specifications.
• Mathematical and analytical skills.
• Sound knowledge of different working tools, hand tools, power tools, and machine tools.
• Able to work long hours.
• Must be handy, able to use both hands. May also be required to kneel, stoop, crawl or squat, and must be physically able to do so.
• Able to work with minimum supervision.
• Oral and communication skills is an advantage.
