About the role

This position is part of a team responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the mine power supply and distribution system for all electrical equipment on the mine and exploration sites in Kainantu. In addition, this position will also play and important role in the training of trades assistants.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Inspect, isolate, and repair electrical malfunctions using various hand and power tools.
• Ensure that alarms and emergency electrical systems onsite are always operational.
• Direct and train subordinates to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and machines.
• Ensure and maintain safe work standards and practices in accordance with mine safety regulations for all tasks performed.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you are a NATTB certified electrician, with PPL certification and demonstrated experience in fixed plant maintenance, ideally within a mining / minerals processing environment. In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.

• Experience in installation and maintenance of power distribution systems, transformer installations, motor control Centre’s, LV and HV transfers and starters.
• The ability to fault find and develop appropriate solution in order to ensure the equipment availability is high.
