About the role

In this role you will install, maintain and repair, cooling and refrigeration systems on site as well as supervising trade assistants within the team.

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Install, maintain, and repair heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems.
• Heating, air conditioning and refrigeration and mechanics installer.
• HVACR technicians – work on heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems that control the temperature and in quality in buildings.
• Ventilate equipment and controls making sure they operate efficiently and continuously.
• Perform regular maintenance work on cooling systems.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical defects and malfunctions.
• Install, replace, or repair equipment that has been damaged.
• Adjust and calibrate thermostatic controls.
• Install new air-conditioning systems and equipment.
• Clean blowers and coils, checks tensions of belts and motors.
• Make plans and designs of new air-conditioning systems including their installation and maintenance.
• Inspect and maintain refrigerators and ice machines and chilled water supply systems.
• Willing to work in remote exploration camps if required.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you must have the following

• Tradesman Certificate
• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge and understanding of HVAC Systems and Methods, including Safety Standards and Protocols.
• Sound knowledge in Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Principles of air-conditioning unit repair & maintenance, including controls, MSDS sheets, safety practices and procedures and tools used.
• Relevant work experience, 3 years or more, mine site experience preferred.
• Able to work in places where they will be exposed to dust, fumes, noise, toxic materials and high voltage equipment.
• Able to work in confined and hot spaces like ceilings, tight place.
• Be certified and approved by the US Environment Protection Agency (EPA)
• Understand the principles of air-conditioning unit repair and maintenance, including controls, MSDS sheets, safety practices and procedures and tools used.
• Be able to read and interpret building regulations and codes pertaining to installing air-conditioning units.
