TECHNICIAN FOR 2-PIECE CAN PRODUCTION-LAE BASE

International Food Corporation Limited, the leading manufacture of Besta Mackerel and Tuna products in PNG and South Pacific seeking to recruit highly motivated and qualified experience individual to fill the position of Technician for 2-Piece Can Production.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

The Technician for 2-Piece Can Production is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing production equipment to ensure efficient and high-quality can manufacturing.

Key JOB Responsibilities

1. Machine Operation & Maintenance:

• Operate and monitor 2-piece can production equipment, including presses, cuppers, body makers, Necker’s and decorators.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance.
• Conduct equipment setup and adjustments to meet production specifications.

2. Troubleshooting & Repairs:

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues in production machinery.
• Minimize downtime by quickly addressing equipment malfunctions.

3. Quality Control & Process Optimization:

• Ensure cans meet quality standards by conducting regular inspections and tests.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Work closely with the quality assurance team to resolve defects and maintain product consistency.

4. Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of machine performance, maintenance activities, and production metrics.
• Prepare reports on machine efficiency, downtime, and maintenance work completed.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding operational issues.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal packaging or can production.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, PLC troubleshooting, and industrial automation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Prior experience in 2-piece can manufacturing or metal forming industry.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge of lubrication systems, vacuum technology.
