TRADES TRAINING SPECIALIST - ASSET
HBS PNG LIMITED currently operates in numerous mine sites across PNG, both on the mainland and remote island locations. We own and operate one of the largest and best maintained mining fleets in PNG, offering the mining sector a variety of services including road construction, maintenance, haulage, lighting, crushing services and plant equipment hire.
We are taking expressions of interest for highly and suitably qualified individuals for the position of Trades Training Specialist - Asset. Applicants must have experience within the mining and construction fields.
This role will involve:
- Implement relevant PTP HSE policies and procedures to ensure operations continue without interruption from safety-related incidents.
- Develop, review, and implement mechanical and auto-electrical training and assessment processes, ensuring their implementation aligns with PTP training procedures at project sites.
- Assist site Training Coordinators with Training Needs Analysis (TNA), training delivery, Supervision for on-the-job training, and personnel screening to ensure technical trades training meets PTP site requirements.
- Develop and review mechanical and auto-electrical training modules and assessments to ensure quality standards consistently meet project site requirements.
- Deliver effective mechanical and auto-electrical training in accordance with company policies and regulations to maintain and upgrade technician competency levels.
- Monitor the post-training performance of asset personnel performing mechanical and auto-electrical maintenance to ensure training effectiveness.
The Candidate must have:
- Apprenticeship in electrical, electronic, or mechanical trades; a Certificate III in Engineering is preferred
- Minimum 5 years experienced in diesel fitting skills at high risk industries in Mining or Oil & Gas
- Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills; a minimum of three years of prior supervisory experience is preferred
- Computer literate and good command in English both verbal & written
- Willing to travel and work extended hours to meet objectives, including performing relief roles during the absence of site training instructors or coordinators.
