Trainer – PSS & DCS

PNG Air is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Trainer – PSS & DCS to join its Commercial Department based in Port Moresby.

The Trainer delivers training on both the Passenger Service System (PSS) and Departure Control System (DCS) to new and existing PNG Air staff across the network, as a multi-skilled trainer covering both systems rather than a single specialization.

The role supports the Head of Trainers in keeping training delivery consistent, high quality, and aligned with the department's documented processes and standards.

Training Delivery

  • Deliver classroom, on-the-job and/or e-learning training on PSS and DCS to new and existing staff.
  • Tailor delivery to different audiences (e.g. reservations, check-in, airport operations) while maintaining consistent core content.
  • Travel to network stations as required to deliver training on site.

Assessment & Certification Support

  • Administer competency assessments and practical evaluations for trainees.
  • Track individual trainee progress and provide feedback to trainees and the Head of Trainers.
  • Support the certification process by ensuring assessment results are recorded accurately and promptly.

Content Support

  • Assist the Head of Trainers in reviewing and updating training materials, manuals and e-learning content for PSS and DCS.
  • Provide feedback on the clarity and accuracy of the Process and Policy Manual and training materials based on delivery experience.

Records & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate attendance, assessment and certification records for each training session.
  • Report training outcomes, issues or trends to the Head of Trainers.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify recurring knowledge gaps or common errors observed during training and feed these back to the Head of Trainers.
  • Liaise with the Helpdesk team where trends in support tickets point to a training need.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCES

Essential

  • Certificate or Diploma in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum one to two years' experience working with airline PSS and/or DCS systems.
  • Prior experience delivering training, coaching or on-the-job instruction.
  • Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Desirable

  • Formal training/facilitation qualification.
  • Experience within the aviation industry across multiple functions (reservations, check-in, airport operations).
  • Experience developing training or e-learning content.
