About the role
We are seeking an experienced Transactional Finance Manager based in Mt Hagen to oversee transactional finance operations and support the Head of Finance in safeguarding the programme’s financial integrity. You will lead the transactional accounts team, ensure accurate financial reporting, and strengthen internal controls across all accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the PNG Head of Finance in financial management, including preparation of annual financial plans, ad-hoc reports, and credit control activities
- Oversee month-end and year-end processes, including financial reporting, reforecasts, reconciliations, and liaison with external auditors
- Assist in the completion of company statistical returns including the preparation and payment of GST and Withholding Tax (WHT) to ensure timely submission and payment.
- Oversee day-to-day transactional finance operations including accounts Payable, accounts receivable, and income processing
- Lead and manage the Transactional Finance Team, including performance monitoring, training, coaching, and system/process improvements (e.g. NetSuite)
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with policies and statutory requirements
- Lead and develop the transactional finance team, including coaching and performance management
- CPA qualifications with a tertiary qualification in accounting or related field (desirable)
- Minimum 3 years’ accounting experience, including 2–3 years in a supervisory or team leadership role
- Strong understanding of transactional accounting processes and financial controls
- Strong attention to detail, organisation and communication skills
- A cover letter addressing key criteria of the role
