TRANSPORT NIGHT SHIFT SUPERVISOR

Position Purpose:

The Transport Night Shift Supervisor will be responsible for the efficient movement & operation of concerning fleet, & ensuring accountability of all Drivers, wharf clerks and crews.

The job of the Transport Night Shift Supervisor plays an integral part of the business that requires focus, dedication, attention to details & encourage teamwork of all EFM staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure all team members comply with Workplace Health & Safety, Codes of Practices, EFM internal policies and procedures
• Provide day to day support to internal management & external staff associated with effective & timely delivery of FCL / LCL products to our clients.
• Ensure the maximum utilization of the EFM fleet at all times.
• Delegation of tasks to drivers, & ensuring that drivers are where they are instructed to be.
• Conduct daily pre start meetings for the driver group in conjunction with the Transport Scheduler.
• Prioritization & effective execution of deliveries, FCL’s, LCL & breakbulk freight deliveries and no overlooking of the empty pickups.
• Effective communication with Management, coordinators and supervisors, regardless of the situation.
• Assisting the Transport Scheduler as required to ensure the smooth operation of this departmental hub.
• Forward planning for upcoming work for the next day/s, week/s.
• Pre loading of trucks for the next business days work esp. Malt and Raw Materials
• General office duties as required – scanning, emailing clients etc.,
• Minimizing overtime of drivers

Skills and Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelors Degree in business, logistic or related study
• Experience in a fast paced Transport Administrative environment is a plus
• Experience in driving heavy vehicles is beneficial for this position
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft office software systems
• Ability to understand internal software program
• High degree of literacy and numeracy skills
• Effective communicator both verbally and written at all levels
• Fosters and encourages and environment of strong team development
• Excellent attention to details
• Customer service focused
