TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION OFFICER

An opportunity has risen within the Human Resources Division for an experienced Travel & Accommodation Officer.

Based in Port Moresby, this position reports to the CEO. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating effective staff travels for the company. They will also ensure effective coordination and management of accommodation within the company to support and manage effective operational needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure travel and accommodation is booked (including the completion of Travel Applications where required).
  • Effective coordination of all staff travel requests, from issuance of Fare Quotes to issuance of electronic tickets
  • Check and ensure staff travel forms have proper approvals from departmental heads
  • Provide proper advice to staff on staff travel ticket payment procedures and time frames
  • Ensure staff travel requests are attended to in a timely manner
  • Provide monthly FOC & ID90 VRS reports
  • Make crew bookings in POM and book hotel accommodation if there are no rooms in the company leased apartments
  • Make arrangement for transit items to be placed in apartments for crew to use when need be
  • Arrange petty cash and prepare transit items in the apartments and advise Operations and Flight Operations team on the respective allocations
  • Liaise with hotels and resorts for bookings and confirmations with purchase orders
  • Source out alternate accommodation other than hotels for Managers and Pilots
  • Provide monthly report on accommodation
  • Other roles and responsibilities directed by the relevant managers

Qualification/Experiences

  • Minimum Grade 12 or a Certificate or Diploma in HR or Tourism & Hospitality
  • Strong MS skills especially Excel
  • Experience using SERKO or VRS travel booking system
  • Have 2-3 years in a similar role from an airline or hotel industry
  • Can communicate effectively both written and spoken with fluency in English & Tok Pisin
  • Possess strong customer service skills with a dedication to urgency and efficiency
  • Proactive and can think outside the box
  • Strong with attention to detail
