Our client is a leading company in the FMCG sector, committed to innovation and excellence in their products and services. They are currently seeking to recruit an Unplanned Maintenance Team Lead.
As an Unplanned Maintenance Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing safe execution of all unplanned maintenance work focusing on efficient breakdown resolution. Ensure segregation between planned and unplanned work to assure that breakdowns are solved while planned maintenance work is continued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all unplanned work in progress.
- Identify and address performance issues with equipment during inspections.
- Lead and manage the corrective maintenance execution team of shift technicians, ensuring proper team alignment and taking responsibility for the team's performance and technical development.
- Apply structured trouble-shooting procedures and demonstrate these techniques to the team.
- Provide training and mentoring to the team, enforcing basic maintenance processes and routines on the shop floor, and safety measures with a specific focus on handling breakdowns.
- Register breakdown work orders and maintain 5S standards in the engineering workshop.
- Utilise KPI metrics of corrective maintenance productivity to optimize the performance of planned execution.
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related fields
- 5+ years’ experience in maintenance and managing people with exposure to unplanned maintenance and operations execution.
- People management is essential to the role
- Effective troubleshooting and fault-finding skills with a passion for training others in these areas.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of 5S and good workmanship practices.
- General knowledge of workflow management, supply chain, and inventory management processes.
- Well-versed in OHSE protocols and safety-conscious.
- Ability to translate operational needs into optimized resource planning, including people, materials, processes, and equipment.
