ProPest Control Limited currently has a vacancy for a Vector Control Field Technician. The Vector Control Field Technician will report to the Vector Control & Snake Handling Team Lead.

The Role:
To protect communities from vector-borne diseases like malaria, dengue, and West Nile virus by conducting field inspections, applying treatments, and educating the public.

Vector Control Field Technician

Main Responsibilities:

• Habitat Control: (Source Reduction)
• Mapping: Be able to conduct "larval surveys" to find and map out new breeding habitats in and around the community.
• Eliminate Breeding Sites: Drain stagnant water, clear blocked drains, and remove empty containers or tires where mosquitoes lay eggs.
• Larvicide: Be able to conduct biological or eco-friendly chemicals to permanent water bodies (ponds, swamps) and temporary ground pools to kill mosquito larvae.
• Mosquito Tracking: Be able to Set up BG Sentinel Trap and CDC light traps to catch adult mosquitoes.
• Lab Work: Be able to use a microscope to identify different types of mosquitoes both adult and Larvae spp.
• Reporting: Be able to keep daily logs of areas sprayed, chemicals used, and types of habitats found.

What We Are Looking For:

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience With Vector Control background for 3 years and above.
• Experience in handling and spraying insecticides safely.
• The ability to identify different mosquito species
• Experience using lab equipment like stereoscopic and compound microscopes.
• A hardworking attitude and the ability to work outdoors in various environments.
• Physical Fit & healthy
• Ability to walk long distances in various weather conditions and carry heavy spray equipment (10–15kg).
• Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of mosquito life cycles and chemical safety.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to follow exact mixing ratios and precise spraying patterns.
• The Candidate must live within the City Limits of NCD.
