Wantok Shop Supervisor | Crowne Plaza Residences Port Moresby

We're recruiting for a Wantok Shop Supervisor who will manage the operation of our convenient shop, dubbed “The Wantok Shop” and support the Food & Beverage Department.

A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

  • Supervising the daily operation of the Wantok Shop by coordinating deliveries, determining pricing, ordering inventory, processing invoices for merchandise received, and scheduling, and supervising colleagues working as shop assistant but not limited to other F&B operation. The Supervisor also monitors projects involving construction, additions, and modifications to the convenient shop operations.
  • Promoting a positive image of the Wantok shop and assures excellent customer service by supervising sales staff, transferring knowledgeable policies, procedures, and operations, assisting customers with selection decisions and locating merchandise within the shop, and responding to customer complaints, shop emergencies, and disruption of services.
  • Providing supervision and leadership for the convenient shop by scheduling and monitoring work assignments, providing training, providing disciplinary action as needed, completing performance evaluations, and providing recommendations for the hiring of staff.
  • Conducting shift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known.
  • Supervising the maintenance of service equipment.

What we need from you

  • 3+ years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Diploma in Hotel Management, Food & Beverage, or related field.
  • Problem solving and training abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
  • May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or public holidays.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
