A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
- Supervising the Wantok Shop and ensuring it looks clean, stocked, and always welcoming.
- Greeting customers, answering questions, and making sure every guest feels looked after.
- Monitoring daily sales and identifying which items and offers are working.
- Planning simple promotions and creative displays that attract guests and drive sales.
- Managing stocktaking, ordering, and inventory to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Using a computer, messaging apps, and social media to promote offers and connect with guests and colleagues.
- Working with the hotel team to source new products, local partners, and ideas to grow revenue.
What we need from you
- You enjoy talking with people and can build relationships easily.
- You are creative and always looking for better ways to do things.
- Comfortable using a computer and basic programs, and quick to learn new systems.
- Able to use messaging and social media professionally to share news and offers.
- Experience with stocktaking, inventory control, and placing orders.
- Ability to read numbers, understand simple reports, and link them to actions in the shop.
- Reliable, organised, and willing to roll up your sleeves when it gets busy.
- Excited by targets and motivated to show strong revenue growth, with ambitions to move into sales in the future.
