We are currently looking for suitable, qualified, experienced, and highly motivated professional to fill the WASH Project Officer - Hardware - X2 role to be based in Arawa, Autonomous Region of Bougainville.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Purpose of this position is to provide technical support in the planning and implementation of WASH construction and training activities in the PLAC WASH Project sites in the Central and Southern Bougainville in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (AROB).
This job requires the incumbent to mobilize the project site communities, conduct technical assessments for WASH hardware activities, develop materials listings (BoQs), support in the design of WASH hardware activities, physically supervise the technicians / artisans / carpenters hired by the project to carry out WASH hardware activities, support in organizing logistics, when delegated, compile and submit activities reports, support the conduction of relevant WASH trainings, liaise with relevant government divisions and partners in the implementation of the WASH activities in the project area.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate and support in the planning and implementation of WASH activities on monthly basis.
- Prepare monthly activity plans (POAs)
- Arrangement for logistics for field trips
- Coordinate the implementation of field activities
Mobilize and organize the target communities for Water and Sanitation promotion activities.
- Build reputation and good relationship with the community leaders and members
- Disseminate proper information on WASH interventions in consultation with the superior
- Support in capacity development interventions
- Provide guidance to the community on WASH interventions in their locations
Offer technical support to the WASH artisans, technicians and community members
- Support the identification of casual artisans/ technicians required by the project, compiling and submission of relevant documentations required to facilitate hiring by WVPNG
- In collaboration with the supervisor, lead in the development and submission of weekly and monthly project activities plans
- In liaison with supervisor, offer the required technical support to the artisans and other WASH team members
- Time records for casuals are well monitored
- Casual staff issues are addressed in line with organization policies.
Liaise with local authorities and other relevant stake holders to ensure involvement and participation in project activities.
- Build public relationship and coordination with the stakeholders and local authorities
- Involve the partners in the project implementation
- Share project information on activities with the partners
Report writing and Evidence based documentation of project Impact
- Compile activity reporting forms
- Complete Monthly Management Reports
- Produce narrative reports on implemented activities
- Produce quality impact stories from the field
Taking care of organizational property and assets entrusted to the team
- Keeping track of organization assets and properties.
- Producing incident reports for any damaged properties or assets.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of certificate or diploma in Water Supply and Sanitation, Environmental Science, Health Related Field
- A minimum 3 years in technical WASH works (GFS constructions, Rainwater Harvesting, Bore water drilling, etc.),
- A minimum of 1 year in community mobilizing role
- Good computer skills
- Experience in community organizing and emergency response is an advantage
- Experience in health and hygiene programs or water supply and sanitation
- Planning and coordinating skills
- Must poses training and facilitation skills
