We currently have an immediate vacancy for a Water Treatment Plant Technician who will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the water treatment systems to ensure a continuous supply of safe, compliant, and high-quality water for production and site utilities. This role supports plant efficiency, compliance with environmental and safety standards, and contributes to overall operational excellence.
- Operate and monitor water treatment equipment including pumps, filters, chemical dosing systems, and control panels.
- Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform water quality testing (pH, turbidity, chlorine levels, hardness, etc.) and record results accurately.
- Adjust treatment processes based on test results and operational requirements.
- Maintain logs, reports, and documentation in line with company and regulatory standards.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce water usage, improve efficiency, and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot issues and support plant operations.
- Assist with procurement and safe handling of treatment chemicals and consumables.
- Participate in training, audits, and emergency response drills as required.
- Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification).
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in water treatment, utilities, or industrial plant operations.
- Knowledge of water treatment processes, chemical handling, and safety protocols.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Computer literacy for data entry and reporting.
