Operating in Papua New Guinea for over 30 years, Nestle PNG Limited is seeking an
experienced Welder / Fabricator with to join our Engineering Team, based at our Lae Factory.

Reporting to the Maintenance Engineer, this role is responsible for carrying out welding and fabrication activitiesin support of plant maintenance, reliability, and improvement works, with a strong focus on stainless steelfabrication and welding in a food manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform welding and fabrication works using approved processes, with high proficiency in stainless
  steel welding (TIG/GTAW preferred)
• Fabricate, repair, and modify stainless steel components, frames, guards, platforms, pipe
  supports, and food-contact or food-zone equipment
• Carry out welding on carbon steel and stainless steel in accordance with engineering drawings,
  work instructions, and specifications
• Support planned, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities requiring fabrication and
  hot-work support
• Ensure all hot-work activities comply with Permit-to-Work, LOTO, and safety procedures
• Maintain high standards of weld quality, finish, hygiene, and workmanship, especially for
  GMP-sensitive areas
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in a safe, clean, and serviceable condition
• Participate in TPM, NCE, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, food safety, regulatory, and GMP standards

Qualification, skills, and experience:

• Recognized trade qualification or apprenticeship in welding, fabrication, or mechanical engineering
• Demonstrated proficiency in stainless steel welding and fabrication (TIG/GTAW) – mandatory
• Experience welding SS 304 / 316 in industrial or food manufacturing environments is highly desirable
• Experience with carbon steel welding (SMAW / MIG)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and measurements
• Strong understanding of safe hot-work practices, welding procedures, and PPE requirements
• Experience in a manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial maintenance environment is an advantage
• Good attention to detail, workmanship quality, and safety discipline
