We are a major construction company based in Lae, Morobe Province, delivering significant infrastructure and building projects throughout Papua New Guinea.

As an equal opportunity employer, we are seeking qualified and experienced individuals to join our team in the following Lae-based positions, all reporting directly to the Workshop Manager.

WELDER

• Position Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for steel fabrication, structural welding, repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance on mobile equipment, including line-haul trucks, fuel tankers, trailers, forklifts, and other heavy equipment.

• Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Lay out, cut, fit, and weld steel components.
• Perform high-quality MIG, TIG, MMA, and stick welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and structural steel in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Carry out steel fabrication, structural welding, auto-body repairs, and welding inspections on mobile and heavy equipment.
• Ensure all welding and fabrication work complies with established quality standards and specifications.
• Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
• Adhere to workplace health and safety procedures, including proper PPE usage.

• Requirements

• Minimum Grade 10 Certificate.
• Tradesman Certificate in Welding or related trade qualification.
• Minimum three (3) years' experience in a similar role.
• Proven experience in structural steel fabrication and heavy industrial welding.
• Demonstrated competency in MIG, TIG, MMA, and stick welding.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and welding specifications.
• Competence in operating cutting and grinding tools and managing heat input during welding.
• Physically fit and capable of standing, bending, lifting heavy materials, and working in confined or elevated spaces.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork.
