WE’RE HIRING | MAINTENANCE – CARPENTER / JOINERY

Keeping our hotel in excellent condition is essential to delivering an exceptional guest experience. As a Maintenance Carpenter / Joiner, you will play a key role in ensuring our facilities remain safe, functional, and visually appealing. From completing repairs and refurbishments to preparing for future maintenance needs, you'll take pride in your workmanship and contribute to the smooth operation of our hotel.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but your responsibilities will typically include:

• Carrying out carpentry repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment work throughout the hotel and guest rooms.
• Repairing or replacing damaged fixtures, fittings, furniture, and joinery items to maintain high presentation standards.
• Assisting with basic painting and finishing works as required.
• Organising materials and ensuring tools and equipment are maintained and ready for daily operations.
• Following all workplace health and safety procedures and reporting hazards, incidents, or unsafe equipment promptly.
• Keeping your supervisor or Guest Facilities Manager informed of maintenance issues and low stock levels.
• Maintaining a professional appearance and representing the hotel with a positive, approachable attitude.
• Supporting the wider maintenance team and undertaking additional duties as required.

What we need from you

• Minimum one year of experience in maintenance, carpentry, joinery, or a related trade.
• Strong carpentry/joinery skills, with painting experience highly desirable.
• Trade qualification, Diploma, or Certificate II in Carpentry, Joinery, Building Maintenance, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of building maintenance practices, hand tools, power tools, and basic painting equipment.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and consistently deliver high-quality workmanship.
• Physically fit and capable of standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying materials throughout the workday.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a customer-focused approach.
• Flexible and willing to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays when required.
