Summary

The Workshop Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations, maintenance, and safety of the workshop and its compound. They will lead a team of heavy equipment mechanics in conducting corrective and preventive maintenance of all company equipment. The Supervisor will also be responsible for evaluating spare parts supplies and maintaining optimal levels of fast-moving parts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • In charge of overall operations including cleanliness and safety condition in the workshop and its compound.
  • Lead heavy equipment mechanics in the implementation and conducting corrective and preventive maintenance of all company equipment.
  • Proper supervision of corrective and preventive maintenance works.
  • Ensure Expatriate Mechanics will provide proper training to local mechanics.
  • Prepare preventive maintenance schedule for all heavy equipment.
  • Regularly communicate with site construction team on the performance condition of the equipment deployed on site.
  • Analyze equipment malfunctions or failure and accordingly develop corrective actions.
  • Develop improvement to enhance equipment reliability and productivity whenever it’s necessary.
  • Monitor equipment performance and suggest improvement.
  • Monitor and supervise mechanics and electrician daily activities when performing maintenance work.
  • Conduct actual maintenance works whenever there is a shortage of mechanics.
  • Handle any other assignment, including supervision on MGO factory, as directed by the management.
  • Evaluate spare parts supplies prior to preparing purchase requisition to ensure that the correct parts or part number are ordered.
  • Actively communicate with purchasing staff on the spare parts order, regularly follow up with back order to expedite the delivery process.
  • Keep proper record on parts inventory as well as loose tools, including daily movements of parts (receipt and usage).
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of physical stocks with inventory record.
  • Evaluate and maintain optimal level of fast moving parts.
  • Ensure safe storage of all equipment parts with proper and neat arrangement.
  • Maintain documentation for each equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedure for future references.
  • Carry out monthly corrective and preventive maintenance work by each Expatriate Mechanics.
  • Prepare monthly reports of maintenance done on each equipment.
  • Handle any other reports as directed by the management.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in workshop operations and maintenance with supervisory experience.
  • Good knowledge of heavy equipment and machinery operation and maintenance.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze equipment malfunctions and develop corrective actions.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of spare parts inventory management and record keeping.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
