We are seeking a motivated and reliable Yard Assistant to support the efficient operation of our Container Management Department based at 11 Mile, Lae.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assist with the movement, loading, unloading and storage of containers within the yard.
• Support the tracking and recording of container arrivals, departures, and storage locations.
• Ensure containers are prepared and available for timely dispatch and collection.
• Conduct regular checks of yard equipment and report any maintenance issues.
• Maintain accurate operational records and assist with stock take activities.
• Follow all workplace health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Assist with housekeeping and ensure the yard remains clean, organized and safe.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, drivers and warehouse personnel to support daily operations.
• Perform other duties as required to meet business needs

To be considered for the role, you will need to have:

• Minimum Grade 12 Certificate.
• Previous experience in logistics, warehousing, container handling or yard operations will be an advantage.
• Basic computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
